Lennis Beichter and Julia Bletscher returned recently from a week's visit in Kansas. They traveled first to Leonardville where they visited uncles and also stayed with a cousin. From there they went to Emporia to visit Lennis's daughter, LeAnne Roberts, Christopher and Dean and her son and family, Mitch and Christy Moore, Sadie, Casey and Isaac.

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 14 members present.

President Mindy Rochwick opened the meeting and led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary Nancy Love gave the invocation.

The minute of the Nov. 10 meeting were approved as corrected. There was no financial report.

New Business: Adam Mitchell will be Santa for the Christmas Drawing to be held Saturday, Dec. 20. Santa will arrive at 12:30 p.m., with the drawing to be at 1 p.m. There will be an auction Dec. 19 at the Extension Office at which the Lions will serve food. Solicitations for the Christmas Drawing need to be turned into Joel Greene Wednesday, Dec. 17.

The meeting adjourned to a time of Thanksgiving Time.

Home for a weekend pre-Thanksgiving visit with their parents, Steve and Janice Williams, were daughters, Samatha Dotson of Ames, and Kris Williams of Ankeny.

Thanksgiving dinner guests of Doug and Carol Steele were Harold Steele of Wayland; Carmen Steele of Omaha; Carrie and Doug Wilkerson and Emma of Center Point; and Cory and Katie Steele, Kylee and Clayton of rural Crawfordsville.

Larry and Donna Fletcher joined family members at the home of their son and family, Brad and Carol Fletcher, Clint and Emma in Cedar Falls on Thanksgiving Day. Others present were: Alan and Alice Trees, Brian and Carla Haymond and Brennan, and Mick and Kathy Garris, all of Winfield, and Troy Garris and Rod Salawsay of Chicago.

Ruth Erwin hosted Thanksgiving dinner for Shari and Tom Boring and Ami and David, and Tammy Erwin and Joni and Janelle Erwin and Micah Johnson.

Aline Hesseltine, Glenn Hesseltine, Larry Hesseltine, Josh and Brooke Hesseltine and Bentley, Tom and Angie Gerot, Jack, Allie and Lizzy, all of Crawfordsville, were guests in the home of Diana and Rush Brentlinger in Iowa City for Thanksgiving dinner. Others present were Diana and Rush's daughters, Megan and Bill Andrade and family of Detroit, Mich., Emily and Aaron Robnett and family of Iowa City, and Jamie and Greg Flynn and family of Grimes; Rush Moore of Iowa City; Brandon and Lisa Moore and daughter of Champaign, Ill.; Richard Hesseltine of Iowa City; and Melissa Smith of Iowa City.
