The regular meeting of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society was held Monday, Nov. 23, at the United Church of Crawfordsville. The meeting was called to order by President Sharon Bright leading the group singing Sword of Gold. Glenda Alvine gave meditations by reading poems about love.
Roll call was answered with 18 members telling about their favorite holiday. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with no additions or corrections. Marlys Fear, Corresponding Secretary read a Thank You from the National T.T.T. Society for a donation and also a letter from the state president concerning raising camp and convention registration fees. This will be discussed in greater detail at the February meeting.
The treasurer's report was given by Lisa Kempf and will be filed for audit. Members were reminded to contribute to the "Step it Up" challenge. She reported having spoken to the National T.T.T. accountant about the "Sun Shine" fund and this will be discussed further at the next meeting.
In Committee Reports: charity-- purchased gift cards for Thanksgiving for camp girls. Ways and Means-- Leah Woline thanked the group for the bazaar items for the sale. The group would like to sell Butter Braids in February. Leah will also get the Chapter on schedule at Mt. Pleasant and Washington to bus tables at Pizza Ranch. A birthday card had been sent to a camper. The sign-up sheet for next year's program booklet was passed around for each member to sign up for a committee, meditation or serving.
In Old Business: It was reported the books had been audited and everything was correct.
In New Business: A bill was presented for gift cards. A motion was made, seconded and carried to pay this. A motion was made, seconded and passed to send 3 girls to camp or provide sponsorship for three girls.
Each member brought two items which were auctioned off. Many holiday and baking items, scarves, etc. were auctioned. Proceeds will be used for camp expenses.
President Bright thanked Leah and Tammy for the refreshments and conducting the bazaar auction. As there was no further business the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting closed with members reciting the Closing Creed.
Members and guests of the Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m. for their annual Christmas party at Bryn Mawr Steakhouse.
The evening was enjoyed by Scott and Jeanne Davis, Darrell and Mary Egli, Joel and Luetta Greene, Craig and Rachel Koehler, Larry Love, Mike Massey, Gene and Pat Miller, Lance Miller, Adam Mitchell, Billie Jo Rose, Loree and Ken Stogdill, Larry and Barb Swailes and Mindy Wilson.
