Crawfordsville Lions Club held its annual installation banquet on Monday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Crawfordsville Lions Club held its annual installation banquet on Monday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
In attendance were Arvid and Joan Anderson, Scott and Jeanne Davis, Darrell and Mary Egli, Randy Finke, Larry and Donna Fletcher, Rick and Annette Fulton, Joel and Luetta Greene, Craig and Rachel Koehler, Larry and Nancy Love, Mike and Shirley Massey, Gene and Pat Miller, Lance Miller, Adam Mitchell, Mindy Wilson, Billie Jo Rose, Loree and Kenneth Stogdill, Larry Swailes and Steve and Janice Williams and guests, Keith Massey and First District Governor Paul Hain.
The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Lion President Mindy Wilson; Lion Nancy Love gave the invocation. Lion President Mindy introduced the evening's guest speaker, Paul Hain, First District Governor from Lone Tree.
After a delicious meal prepared and served by the United Church Women, the meeting reconvened. Hain spoke to the group about dwindling membership and ways to conquer it. He challenged the club to "Ask 1, Retain 1" making membership into mentorship and retention into responsibility.
The next order of business was the presentation of awards. Steve Williams was honored with the Si Finke Lion of the Year award. Randy Finke was awarded the Warren Coleman award. Mike Massey was presented with the Melvin Jones award on behalf of his late father, Eward Massey. Mindy Wilson was awarded the Past President's Pin.
Lions members with perfect attendance were recognized: one year -Larry Fletcher, Mindy Wilson and Lance Miller; six years- Billie Jo Rose; 13 years- Gene Miller; 25 years- Scott Davis and 36 years to Mike Massey and Randy Finke.
The next order of business was Installation of Officers by Hain. Installed were: president- Loree Stogdill; first vice president- Billie Jo Rose; second vice president- Lance Miller; third vice president- Craig Koehler; secretary- Nancy Love; treasurer- Randy Finke; Lion Tamer- Mike Massey; Tail Twister- Larry Fletcher; one year directors - Larry Love and Adam Mitchell and two year directors - Scott Davis and Gene Lintz.
A few items of business were discussed- the upcoming Pancake Breakfast at the Ball Park and the Zone-Wide Leader Dog event to be held Oct. 12 at the Marr Park Conservation Center.
The meeting was adjourned by the new President Loree Stogdill.
Anita Kirkman of Washington state visited two days with her aunt, Julia Bletscher and cousins Lennis and Eldon Beichter last week.
