The United Church Women met at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 2 p.m. on Nov. 10, 2015, with 11 ladies, guest AmySara Richardson and Pastor Jason present.
The meditation was presented by Debbie Lowe and titled "Give Thanks" and "Autumn Prayer." President Deb called the meeting to order and everyone read the UCW Opening Creed together. Secretary Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the Oct. 13 meeting and they were approved as amended.
The treasurer's report was given by Pat Miller and will be filed for audit. Various Committee reports were given. It was reported work will be started on the kitchen remodeling the week of Nov. 16 and items and appliances have been selected.
AmySue Richardson was present and spoke to the group regarding her position as Youth and Family Director for UCC and ACC. She told of her faith and God's calling and of her background, her visions and her goals.
The ladies will meet Thursday, Nov. 19, at 9:30 a.m. to prepare Holiday Boxes. Goodies need to be individually wrapped.
The next regular meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 8, and will be a Christmas potluck at 11:30 a.m. Helen Lease will have the meditation and Joyce Huff and Pauline Richardson will be hostesses. They will provide two hot dishes with everyone else asked to bring a side dish of their choice.
Dorcas will meet on Monday, Nov. 23, and Dec. 14. The work ccommittee for November is Cathy Williams and Ann Lewis. The December ccommittee is Donna Fletcher and Aline Hesseltine.
A motion was made, seconded and approved to adjourn and everyone read together the Closing Creed. Debbie closed the meeting citing allowing God to work in our lives, based on John 14:12.
Helen Lease, Frieda Finke and Billie Jo Rose had the privilege and pleasure of attending the Wayland Chapter No. 494 and Brighton Chapter No. 486 of the OES honoring Scott Davis on Saturday afternoon at a reception at the Wayland Community Center for his appointment as Grand Chaplain. It was a very impressive ceremony with all Grand Chapter officers present. Scott also had many family members present. On Sunday morning, many of the officers were in attendance at the United Church of Crawfordsville worship service. Congratulations, Scott!
