The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with seventeen members present.
Lion President Loree Stogdill opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the invocation.
In the absence of the secretary, Lion Nancy Love, Lion Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the Jan. 11, meeting. They were approved as amended.

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with seventeen members present.
Lion President Loree Stogdill opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the invocation.
In the absence of the secretary, Lion Nancy Love, Lion Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the Jan. 11, meeting. They were approved as amended.
Lion treasurer Finke gave the treasurer?s report.
Community member, Angie Gerot spoke to the group about the after-prom activities and asked for a donation to this cause, citing the main concern is to keep the students safe. A motion was made, seconded and carried to contribute to this.
In Correspondence: A thank-you note was read from Colton Sypherd thanking the club for the $100 Grand Prize he won at Christmas drawing.
Also, a letter from District Governor Don Foor asking for help in getting a new Lions Campus Club at Iowa Wesleyan University. He was asking the club to provide a scholarship for one or two students. There was a motion made, seconded and approved to scholarship two students.
There was also correspondence concerning Studying Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity. This item was not acted on.
Old Business: Lion Lintz reported his findings regarding purchasing L.E.D. lights for the street Christmas lights and told of items he had purchased and how many more were needed. The Crawfordsville City will pay half the cost of the bulbs. The Lions will secure an electrician and also check into the possibility of getting a mini-grant.
New business and unfinished business, discussion was held concerning the use of the school for now and in the future.
The hogs for the pancake and sausage supper will be delivered on Tuesday evening or Wednesday a.m. Feb. 16 and 17. Lion Larry Love is in charge of arrangements. It was decided to ask the Community Club if some of their members would help with set-up and serving of the supper. Proceeds will be divided between Alzheimer?s Association,?The Longest Day Committee?and Angel Marsh, to help her with expenses following recent strokes.
The Nominating Committee was asked to begin preparing a slate of officers for 2016-17.
A motion was made to adjourn.
