CONGRATULATIONS, PAM!

Pam Davis of Crawfordsville was awarded the 2025 4-H Hall of Fame Award at the Washington County Fair on July 17, 2025 on the Lions Stage during the 4-H awards ceremony. She has been the coleader of the Crooked Creek 4-H Club for over 25 years. She is a staple in the sheep department at the Washington County Fair and gives her time as an office volunteer. In 2022, the Davis family was recognized as the 4-H Hall of Fame Family of the year. She credits her family for always being there for her and wants to challenge everyone to give as much as she hopes she has given.

She will be recognized again formally by the Iowa 4-H Foundation during a ceremony at the Iowa State Fair on August 17th. The honorees are chosen for their dedication, encouragement, commitment and guidance to 4-H through the years. The Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame was initiated in 2002 to help commemorate the 100th anniversary of 4-H.

CHURCH NEWS

The United Church of Crawfordsville will once again be collecting items for personal dignity kits and school kits to be sent to Midwest Missions. Collection will be from the present until October 26. Please follow carefully the size and what is requested. If you prefer to give cash for items to be purchased, please contact Pat Miller. Below is a list of items.

Personal dignity kits:

1 Hand towel (no kitchen towels)

1 Washcloth (no dishcloths)

1 Toothbrush (no multipacks)

1 Bar Soap 3-4 0z.

1 Shampoo 12-19 oz.

1 Deodorant- 2-3 oz. (Stick, Roll-on or Pump.)

1 Lotion 8-10 oz.

Put all of these in a resealable plastic bag.

Student Kits:

3 Notebooks-1 subject spiral 8"x 101/2".

1 Ruler- 12" long with metric

6 Pencils-Unsharpened

1 Pencil Sharpener

1 Pencil Eraser-2" or larger

1 Box of 12 Colored Pencils

1 Box of 24 Crayons

1 Pair of Student Scissors

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

The Spring Run Church is having their annual ice cream social Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025 from 5-7 p.m.

The menu consists of Hot Chicken Sandwiches, Beef Burgers, Potato Salad, Pies and Cakes and Homemade Ice Cream. Freewill offering with proceeds going to "Missions."
