WHITE CLOUD CLUB
White Cloud Club met for their annual club tour on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025, starting off with lunch at the Northside Diner in Washington.
Next they went on a guided tour of the Y. The new facility has many new and interesting programs to include the littles to the elderly in the community. All looked like fun.
Touring the Wellness Park was next on the agenda. It has many fields and playground equipment.
The group's next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 2, 205 at 11 a.m. at Your Choice Family Restaurant in Wayland. This is a meeting you won't want to miss, as election of officers will be held. Be prepared and have your election speeches ready. Also, Mystery Sisters will be revealed. Everyone is to bring a $5.00 gift to add to the fun. Cards were signed to be sent to member Pauline Richardson.
Those attending were Jolene Colthurst, Diane Johnston, Margaret Patterson and Virginia Sands.
LIONS INSTALLATION DINNER MEETING
The Crawfordsville Lions Club held their Installation Banquet on Monday evening, Sept. 8, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the United Church of Crawfordsville. In attendance were Lions members and guests: Scott and Jeanne Davis, Darrell and Mary Egli, Randy Finke, Larry and Donna Fletcher, Joel and Luetta Greene, Jennie Greene, Gene and Betty Lintz, Larry Love, Mike and Shirley Massey, Gene and Pat Miller, Billie Jo Rose and Mindy Wilson. Special guest was District 9SE District Gov. Paul Hain.
Lion President Scott Davis called the meeting to order leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Larry Fletcher offered prayer.
Following a delicious meal prepared and served by Lara Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.
Lion Mindy thanked Lara for the delicious meal.
President Scott introduced District Gov. Hain, who told the club he was serving his second term as District Governor, as he had held that office in 2016-17. He stressed the need for club's to ask new people to join, not only young, but anyone in their community. Each year gets harder to find officers on the state and local level. The International President's motto is "Lead to Serve," "Serve to Lead." He thanked the club for their donation to L.C.I.F. He congratulated the Club on their contribution to Lions since the local chapter was formed 72 years ago. Some of the things done locally are a Christmas Drawing each year, in which surrounding businesses and individuals donate items to be given away, hosting Blood Drives, Fundraisers, such as Pancake Breakfasts and Suppers, Roadside cleanups, Kid Sight Screenings, Scholarships and helping with community projects. He encouraged all clubs to grow Lions memberships by adding one new member per club. The goal is to add 78 members this year and to also to find new communities to add clubs.
The next order of business was the Installation of Officers for the 2025-26 club year. District Gov. Hain installed the following: 2 Year Directors: Luetta Greene and Larry Love; 1 Year Directors: Gene Lintz and Joel Greene. President: Scott Davis; 1st Vice President: Randy Finke: 2nd Vice President: Steve Williams and 3rd Vice President: Billie Jo Rose. Secretary: Billie Jo Rose; Treasurer: Randy Finke; Tail Twister: Randy Finke andLion Tamer: Mike Massey.
Following installation, the Si Finke Memorial Lion of the Year Award was presented to Lion Billie Jo Rose.
President Scott reminded everyone of the upcoming Pancake Breakfast, Saturday, Sept. 13 from 6:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. at the Crawfordsville Fire Station. All hands are needed to help setup and work.
A monetary gift was presented to the Iowa Lions Foundation in District Governor's Hain's name.
There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting was adjourned by President Scott.
