UNITED CHURCH WOMEN

The regular meeting of the United Church Women was held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Crawfordsville with 10 ladies present.

Cathy Williams shared the devotion, "Call to Worship" and Praising God."

President Debbie called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read together.

The July 8 minutes were read by Secretary Billie Jo and they were approved as read.

The Treasurer's report was given by Pat and will be filed for audit. Monies realized from the Rummage were reported on. There was a bill for flowers and postage stamps. The regular offering was taken and members were reminded that Blessing Boxes should be brought to the November meeting.

Committee Reports:

Local Activities: Margaret was thanked for organizing drawers, etc. in the kitchen.

Dorcas: Donna reported the group is busy making quilts.

Cards, Flowers and Gifts: Nothing new to report. Billie Jo reported the usual cards had been sent.

Mission Outreach: Margaret told that everyone has a mission, whether it is in our own community or missionaries around the world.

Old Business: There was a report on the recent rummage sale, which was deemed a success. Deb passed out a report of rummage sales from when they first were held and how recent ones compare.

New Business: Reported the purchase of two smaller tables to be used wherever needed. The following slate of officers were presented by Marlene and unanimously accepted as follows: President: Debbie; Vice President: Marlene; Secretary: Billie Jo; Treasurer: Pat. Mission Outreach Committee: Margaret; Local Activities: Carol; Dorcas: Donna. Nominating Committee: 1 Year: Linda; 2 Year: Billie Jo and 3 Year: Cathy. Cards, Flowers and Gifts: Billie Jo and Cathy. Executive Committee Meetings will be called as needed by the President. 2026 Program and Work Committee sign-up sheets were passed for people to sign-up.

Upcoming Events: Next meeting: November 11 at 2 p.m.; Meditation: Margaret; Hostess: Marlene; The treasury will be assessed and Blessing Boxes will be turned in. Dorcas dates: September 22, October 13 and 27 and November 10. Work Committees: September: Carol; October: Donna and November: Linda.

Following a motion to adjourn the Closing Creed was read in unison. Deb thanked Rachel for hostessing. Closing thoughts from Deb were: "The most wasted of all days is that on which one has not laughed." and "A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit"--Proverbs 15:13.

IMPACT KIDS

"Impact Kids", a program for all children at the WACO Elementary. They will meet beginning Wednesday, September 23. This is a program sponsored by the United Church of Crawfordsville to learn about Jesus. This is about healthy social interaction and having fun together, encouraged and supported by adults in the community and church. They will meet directly following school and begin with games and snacks. There will be singing, Bible memories and Bible stories and much more. All children are encouraged to attend.
