CRAWFORDSVILLE LIONS CLUB
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, Oct. 13, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. for their dinner meeting in the Crawfordsville Community Room. Thirteen members were present.
President Scott Davis opened the meeting leading the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Larry Fletcher offered prayer.
Following the delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened. Secretary Rose read the minutes of the June 9, 2025 meeting and also the minutes of the Installation meeting held on September 8. They were both approved as read.
Treasurer Finke gave his report, both of the June meeting and of the Pancake Breakfast held in September.
Old Business: The Pancake Breakfast was discussed and ways to make improvements.
New Business: Thank you notes were passed from Isaac Rich for his scholarship and the Law Enforcement Child's Safety Council for our contribution to them. There was mention of maybe teaming up with the Wayland Lions in doing Kid's Sight Screening here at WACO Elementary.
Lion Mike reminded everyone of his retirement auction at Mike's Service Stop at North Main on Saturday, October 25.
Lion Joel brought to attention the annual Christmas Drawing and the date of Saturday, Dec. 20 was set for that. More information to follow.
There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting was adjourned by President Scott.
Tail Twister Randy entertained with trivia pertaining to T.V.
personalities and numerous other interesting topics, including many firsts.
CRAWFORDSVILLE WEDNESDAY STUDY CLUB
Six members of the Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club met at Dodici's Shop in Washington on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025 at 2 p.m. Attending were Ruth Erwin, Rachel Koehler, Debbie Lowe, Joyce Roth, Janice Twinam and Cathy Williams.
Debbie treated the members to a beverage of their choice. She then shared Tidbits Spreads on Some Condiments by Kathy Wolfe from the July 19, 2025 issue of Tidbits of Linn and Johnson Counties, IA paper she had picked up at Midtown Restaurant in Iowa City. The article gave the histories and interesting information of various condiments.
Book briefs were shared and some books were brought for others to read. Some business was discussed.
The meeting ended with a social time.
Cahty Williams will be host for the next meeting on Nov. 19, 2025. She will notify the members of the place and time.
