UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
The United Church Women met on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2025 in the fellowship hall of the United Church of Crawfordsville with nine ladies present.
Devotions were shared by Margaret about Veterans Day and a Welsh poem. She asked for members to share stories of their loved ones that had served our country. She also mentioned all the turmoil in today's world, citing Philippians 4:6 and Be anxious for nothing 4:7 and the Peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension.
President Debbie Lowe called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read together. The minutes of the Sept. 9, 2025 meeting were read by secretary Billie Jo and they were approved as read. The treasurer's report was given by Pat and will be filed for audit. The Regular offering was taken and the Blessing Boxes were turned in. Money from these will go to Tunnels to Towers and World Central Kitchens.
Correspondence: A thank you was received from a family who had recently lost a loved one.
Committee Reports:
Local Activities: It was reported two funeral luncheons had been served and also the Harvest Supper and Sale.
Dorcas: Donna reported quilts had been given locally and some will be taken to Hospice of West Burlington in the future.

New Business: The treasury was assessed and amounts were decided upon to be sent to mission projects. Donna will be making new program books for 2026.
Upcoming Events: Next meeting: Dec. 9; Christmas luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Hostess and meditation: Billie Jo. Members will be notified of the place later. Dorcas dates: Nov. 24, Dec. 8 and possibly December 22. Work Committees: November: November: Linda; December: Billie Jo and January 2026: Pat.
Following a motion to adjourn the Closing Creed was read together. Deb thanked Marlene for hostessing.
Deb closed with the following thought: " It is good to remember that the tea kettle, although up to its neck in hot water, continues to sing." Rejoice evermore. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5: 16, 18.
CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS:
There will not be a Thanksgiving Eve service this year. However, we are once again supporting the WACO Food Pantry with monetary gifts for our Thanksgiving Offering. Instead of bringing supplies and canned goods, please give money for this worthy project that the Worship Committee supports every year. This helps purchase meat, milk, eggs, cheese and other fresh and perishable items. Items can also be purchased at a great discount through HACAP.
