UNITED CHURCH WOMEN LUNCHEON
Twelve ladies and one guest from the United Church of Crawfordsville met at 11:30 a.m. for lunch on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025 at El Mariachi Restaurant in Winfield.
President Debbie presided over a short business meeting at which the group decided where to send money from Blessing Boxes they had turned in last month. Billie Jo served as hostess.
Devotions were shared from Psalm, 62:1-2 and 5-7 by Lara. She encouraged us to remember that even though the world around us may be in great turmoil, God is our safe and strong refuge where we can go and hide and He is the only trustworthy savior.
Lara shared about her journey in cross-cultural ministry so far.
She lived and worked seven years overseas primarily with the poor. She returned to the States for a season of rest and retooling after experiencing severe burnout. Upon recovery, she served her parents for a season as her father battled illness. This past year she began to pray about what might be next and that has led her to serving in member care. She serves her organization as assistant director of member care — providing pastoral care and equipping for cross-cultural workers all over the world. She currently resides in Kalona and is completely donor-funded and travels frequently. Thank you, Lara, for a look into your ministry.
Besides Lara, those attending were Beth Brooks, Donna Fletcher, Rachel Koehler, Debbie Lowe, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Billie Jo Rose, Joyce Roth, Virginia Sands, Carol Steele, Cathy Williams and Linda Wiltfang.
Before leaving, everyone was gifted with a goodie bag of sweet treats from Rachel Koehler and a hand painted Christmas ornament from Linda Wiltfang.
RECENT BLOOD DRIVE
Even though the Blood Drive on Monday, December 1. 2025, sponsored by the Crawfordsville Lions Club was cut short due to inclement weather there was an excellent turn out. Thirty-one people registered, twenty-four whole blood units were collected and 10 double reds.
Excellent work! Thank you to everyone that contributed.
Also, a big thank-you to those who furnished refreshments and helped with setup and serving. It was very much appreciated.
