SACHA CLUB HAPPENINGS
Nine members of the Sacha Club met Monday, February 23. 2026 in the Ainsworth Community Church basement.
President Brenda Bean called the meeting to order and roll call was answered by each telling their favorite board game. Minutes from the previous meeting were approved as read by Linda McNeil. Karen Megchelsen gave the treasure report.
Old Business: Linda McNeil reported on the recent Blood Drive. Thirty three units were collected. Those who did the calling, worked and those who donated cookies were thanked.
New Business: The Easter Egg Hunt will be held, Saturday April 4 at Marr Park beginning at 9:30 a.m. Preschool through 5th graders are welcome to attend.
The program was making May Day Baskets.
The meeting closed with the Club Collect. Brenda Bean served refreshments.
CROOKED CREEK CHRISTIAN CAMP
Crooked Creek Christian Camp would like to make your life easier by providing entrées and sides to take care of your Easter lunch. CHAPTER L T.T.T. SOCIETY
Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society members met on Monday, February 23. 2026 at 7: 00 p.m. at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting opened with the singing of the Sword of Gold.
Roll Call: Six members answered with “What is your favorite game?”
Minutes: Nancy McGohan read the November 2025 minutes and they were approved with one correction.
Correspondence: President Shelman shared information on the upcoming State Convention being held April 10 and 11. Next month there will be more discussion and the group will decide who the two delegates and two alternates will be that will attend. A text was also shared in regards to the purchase of the newly designed attire available for purchase. The upcoming zoom meeting is the 24th, titled “How to grow camping 4 girls” A card was from Ruth Erwin.
The Treasurer’s Report was given by Missy Fear. There were no transactions this past month.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Camp: Nancy McGohan reported that she responded to the email stating the chapter plans to send two girls and that they don’t plan to use bus transportation. Camp session this year is June 7-12. Following discussion during the meeting, it was decided that she will start the process of contacting girls and report back.
Charity: Missy Fear will take care of the Easter Cards for the past campers.
Camp Girl’s Gifts and Ways and Means: There was nothing to report.
UNFINISHED/OLD BUSINESS: There was none.
NEW BUSINESS: President Shelman reported on the upcoming State Convention at Stoney Creek Hotel in Johnston, Iowa. Costs associated with the convention were shared, as well as meal choices. More discussion next month.
BILLS FOR PAYMENT: Missy Fear will send a check for Kay Miller’s memorial.
PROPOSAL OF NAMES FOR MEMBERSHIP: None
ADJOURNMENT: President Shelman thanked those who attended. The next meeting will be Monday, March 23, 2026 at 7 p.m. at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting adjourned with the Closing Creed.
VISIT IN INDIANA
Alice Hochstetler spent a few days recently in Indiana visiting her children and their families. Those visited were the J.B. and Carla Hochstetler family, Matt and Ilona Roberts and Grady and the Tim and Kim Hochstetler family. While there they celebrated J. B.’s 50th birthday.
DATES TO REMEMBER
Saturday night, March 14 a Spaghetti Supper will be held at the Crawfordsville Fire Station from 4-7 p.m. Desserts and Drinks will also be served. All for a freewill donation.
The United Church of Crawfordsville will have a Soup Supper and Chili Cook-off on Saturday evening, March 21 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. They will be serving Oyster and Potato Soup, along with competition chilis. This again is a freewill offering. If you are competing in the Chili Cook-off, please bring your prepared recipe to the church by 3:30 p.m. on March 21. You will receive a number in order for the public to vote for their favorite.
