Yula Lanore Rose Widmer, 97, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2012.
Yula was born in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Wilbert and Alice Williams Rose. She was a 1934 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. On April 8, 1939, she married Gilbert Widmer, who preceded her in death.

Yula Lanore Rose Widmer, 97, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2012.
Yula was born in Crawfordsville, the daughter of Wilbert and Alice Williams Rose. She was a 1934 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. On April 8, 1939, she married Gilbert Widmer, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Harvey) Chandler and Linda (William) Turpin, brothers Maurice (Mary Lou) Rose and Marshal (Carol Ann) Rose, five grandchildren and five stepchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and extended relatives.
She was also preceded in death by sisters Marie Reeder and Gladys Brecheisen.
Funeral sevices were held Wednesday, May 28, at Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial taking place Thursday, May 29, at Finley Chapel Cemetery near Wayland.
Helen Lease accompanied her daughter, Christine Stauffer to St. Robert, Mo., on Friday, May 23, to the home of their grandson and son, Doug and Crystal Marsh and family. They went especially for their great-granddaughter and granddaughter, Tiarrah Marsh's graduation from Waynesville High School in Waynesville, Mo. They also attended the graduation reception in the Marsh home on Saturday and returned to their homes on Sunday, May 25.
Helen was also among the relatives who attended a graduation reception for her grandson, Christian Marsh, held at Penn Meadows Park in North Liberty, on Sunday, June 1. He is the son of Angel Marsh of North Liberty.
On Monday, June 2, the Wyman Community Club met for lunch at 11:30 a.m. at Ainsworth Four Corners.
Those in attendance were Keith and Pat Jones, Lorrine Frame, and John Wittrig of Winfield: Kevin Dunsmore of Mt. Pleasant; Robert and Lucille Humphreys, Frieda Finke, Pauline Richardson, Ruth Erwin, Elaine Prom, and Billie Jo Rose of Crawfordsville; Wilma Vosburg of Grinnell; Al and Adeline Sents, Audrey Finke and Peggy Buffington of Washington.
Keith and Al treated everyone to strawberry cake for their birthdays.
The next meeting will be Monday, July 1, at 11:30 a.m. at Ainsworth Four Corners.
On Sunday, June 15 (Father's Day) the United Church of Crawfordsville and the Ainsworth Community Church had a joint worship service at 10:30 a.m. at the Washington County Conservation Education Center in the Steinbeck Conference Hall, at Marr Park.
Chairs and tables were provided in the air-conditioned building.
A potluck dinner followed, with beverage and table service provided by the Ainsworth Community Church. Everyone was asked to bring a dish to pass.
