The first club group to meet since the virus began is the White Cloud Club. They met Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Marr Park, pond shelter house at 10 a.m. The group hadn't gotten together since their March date night.
President Pauline Richardson had asked to group to bring their own drinks and lawn chairs, so they could just get together for visiting and practice social distancing. They all enjoyed seeing each other since the April and May meetings were canceled.
The meeting opened with Pauline reading about the origin of Flag Day on June 14, 1777 and shared some rules on flag handling.
Roll call was answered by each telling 'what unusual gadget they had.”
Minutes from the February meeting and March Date Night were read. The treasurer's report was given and one bill paid.
There was no new business and next month's meeting is to be determined.
Attending were Joyce Huff, Betty Lintz, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson and Shannon Sells and daughter, Katrina.
'DeLovey Delicious Mini Donuts” van will be set up on the United Church of Crawfordsville's parking lot on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. They have several different dipping sauces, including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana and maple. Monies realized (Free-will donation) will go to the WACO Food Pantry. Dave and Sherri Delovely, Crawfordsville residents are owners of this new business. They have already been to Fairfield, Mt. Pleasant and Washington, to name a few places close by have been overwhelmed with the receptiveness.
Everyone come join them June 15.
The WACO Food Pantry at the United Church of Crawfordsville is open the first and third Thursday of each month. The next is Thursday, June 18 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. The food pantry continues to help approximately 47 families. A special thank you goes out to Jenny and Bruce Kaufman who load boxes into the vehicles as everyone is still asked to remain in their vehicles.
Instructions for food pickup:
1. A box of food will be packed.
2. Drive through the carport on the west side of the church and someone will bring a box out.
3. Please remain in your cars.
Anyone who would like to donate to the food pantry may do so by sending checks to the church with: Attn.: Jenny Kaufman.
Food items that are not out of date may also be brought to the church and left inside the carport door. Anyone in need of food may call Jenny.
I know WACO's Prom has been canceled and parents are trying to come up with ideas for after prom activities.
