Wilma McAllister enjoyed a visit from her niece, Janice Parks of Carmichael, California. over the weekend. A McAllister cousins get-together was held at Jerry?s in Mount Pleasant Sunday, Aug. 21. Those attending in addition to Janice and Wilma were Vernon McAllister of Muscatine, Roy and Leni McAllister of Papillion, Nebraska, Verlyn and Louise Noring of Indianola, and Tom and Ruth McAllister of Crawfordsville, Chris and Steve Williams of Anamosa, and Lynn McAllister of New London.

While here, Janice and Wilma visited cemeteries in the area where relatives are buried and also ate a tenderloin at Butch?s River Rock Cafe. They were joined by Wilma?s daughter, Chris Williams, on a very enjoyable tour of Kalona and surrounding area one day.

The Fall Rummage hosted by the United Church Women will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 3, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Many items, including clothing, household items, knickknacks, toys, seasonal items, books and much more are available for a free-will donation. Any items not sold will be taken to the Fellowship Cup in Mount Pleasant.

The Harvest Supper and Auction date has been set for Saturday, Oct. 22. Mark your calendar for an evening of good food and fun things to bid on.
