The regular meeting of the United Church Women met Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the United Church of Crawfordsville with 10 ladies and pastor Jason in attendance.

The meditation, 'Risky Business” from the book An Apple a Day was given by Deb Lowe.

President Deb Lowe called the meeting to order and the Opening Creed was read in unison.

The minutes of the January 14, 2020 meeting given by Secretary Billie Jo Rose were approved as read.

Pat Miller, Treasurer gave the treasurer's report and it will be filed for audit.

CORRESPONDENCE;

Thank you notes were read from various organizations and individuals the ladies have funded.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Local Activities:

A report of serving lunch for a funeral and also Spring Clean-up at the church is scheduled for March 28.

DORCAS:

Wilma reported on sewing on March 9 with seven ladies present. Three quilts were tied and several sewed. It was noted that Jeff Johnston will be taking some quilts to the V.A. in Iowa City.

CARDS, FLOWERS AND GIFTS:

The usual mix of sympathy, get well, etc. had been sent.

STUDY & DEVOTIONS/MISSION OUTREACH: The Regular Offering and Least Coin Offering were taken and the Fellowship of the Least Coin was read together. It was noted that the Least Coin began in 1922, when one penny was given for each year of life. The Birthday Offering was also taken.

OLD BUSINESS: None

NEW BUSINESS: The Presbyterian Church in Winfield's Basement Sale is March 26. United Church of Crawfordsville: Spring Rummage Sale is scheduled for April 23, 24 and 25. The ladies agreed to pay 1/3 the cost of those going to summer camp at Camp Wyoming.

UPCOMING EVENTS/ NEWS ITEMS:

No meeting in April. Next regular meeting: May 12 @ 2 p.m. Clarissa will have the meditation and hostess will be Margaret.

Dorcas: March 23, April 13, 27 and May 11.

Spring Rummage Sale: April 23, 24 and 25.

Following a motion to adjourn, the Closing Creed was read together. Deb thanked Donna for being hostess. She closed with Proverbs 15:13-A happy heart makes the face cheerful.
