Crawfordsville news: Edgars celebrate birth of son

Birth
Congratulations to Mitchell and Sarah Edgar on the birth of their first child, a son, Hunter Dean on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022 at 1:28 p.m. He arrived at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City weighing in at 7 lbs. 11.5 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.
Grandparents are Bill and Deanne Edgar of Crawfordsville; Sheri and Joe Bennett and Dave and Jessica Waite, all of Washington. Great-grandparents are Jerry and Betty Bean of Ainsworth, David and Kathy Shreeves of Wayland, great- grandpa Dan Wellington of Washington and great-great grandma Edith Wellington of Washington.
Retirement
Scott Davis was guest of honor at a party at Shantz-Mitchell Legion Hall in Crawfordsville to celebrate his recent retirement from working 22.5 years at Mid-Am Supply in Mt. Pleasant.
Those helping him celebrate enjoyed pulled pork barbecue complete with baked beans and cheesy potatoes.

Passed away
Word has been received here of the death of former Crawfordsville resident Maurice L. Rose on Jan. 14, 2022 in Ohio at the age of 96. Maury was a 1942 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and brother of the late Marshal Rose and uncle of Kevin Rose and Joi Dellamuth. He was a long time resident of the Montgomery, Ohio, area and worked with various farm magazines before he and his late wife, Mary Lou, purchased the Sycamore Messenger in which he was publisher and she editor for many years.
