Grace Hiller, daughter of Don and Ruchel Hiller and a 2020 graduate of WACO High competed for the last time at the Washington County Fair. She was a member of the Washington County 4-H program for 13 years. First as a Crawfordsville Clover Kid, starting in Kindergarten. In fourth grade she joined the Crook Creek Club. Grace has also been a helper with Clover Cookers Cooking Club.
She has exhibited projects in Photography, Garden, Visual Arts, Self-Determined, Surprise Design, $15 Challenge, Pride of Iowa, Goats, Sheep, Rabbits, Poultry and Share the Fun. She has had two projects selected to go to the Iowa State Fair, won Pride of Iowa two years in a row, was selected to participate in the Intermediate Clothing Event in the $15 Challenge and won numerous trophies with her rabbits and poultry. Grace has enjoyed helping future 4-Hers by being a Clover Kid Mentor in goat and rabbit.
Grace says '4-H has taught me many things. Time management is one of them. Also how to be a gracious competitor. If I hadn't been a part of the 4-H program I wouldn't of made some friends I have today.”
As for her final year and the Fair she says she is thankful for all who were involved with making this year's fair happen. It definitely wasn't a normal year, but she is glad she still had the opportunity to participate in this her last year.
Kasey Lintz was honored Saturday morning, August 1, 2020 with a miscellaneous bridal shower at the Crawfordsville Community Room. Hostesses were Michelle Rees, Kelly Dotson, Carol Steele and Betty Lintz.
A brunch of a Breakfast Casserole, Fruit and Cinnamon Rolls was served to the guests. A few games were played. Guests also decorated a white picture hat with bows from the gifts and presented it to the bride-to-be.
Guests included family and friends, including mothers of the couple, Linda Timmins and Melinda Rees and grandmothers' Midge Craven and Sandra Rees.
Kasey will become the bride of Jared Rees on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the Salem Welsh Church, rural Columbus Junction, Iowa.
