Crawfordsville news: Lions Club meets

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Dec. 14 at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 15 members present.
Lion President Mike Massey called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Secretary Nancy Love gave the opening prayer.
After everyone enjoyed a carry-in pizza meal, the meeting was called back into order. The minutes of the November 23, 2020 were approved as read. There was no treasurer's report.
Old Business: The logistics for the Christmas Gift Giveaway. which is scheduled to take place Saturday, December 19 at 1 p.m. were revisited. Lion Nancy was thanked for her work on getting the cards mailed for the giveaway. The Christmas lights were put up by Steve Williams, Larry Swailes, Scott Davis, Gene Miller and Randy Finke. They were thanked for their efforts. The lights will be taken down January 2, 2021 at 9 a.m. It was noted that the Christmas Gift Giveaway counts as the second meeting in December and the club will reconvene in January.
Club members seized the opportunity to sing Happy Birthday to Joel Greene, who was celebrating on this day. Their congratulations were extended to Lion Nancy Love on her upcoming retirement.
There being no new business, the meeting adjourned.
Community members are reminded that the United Church of Crawfordsville will be celebrating Christmas with an outdoor service on the south lawn Christmas Eve, December 24, 2020 at 7 p.m. Remember to dress warm and bring blankets and flashlights if you wish. Tea lights will be provided and there will be hay bales to sit on.
