Crawfordsville news: Local high schoolers perform well at competition

On Sunday, March 7, the 2021 Iowa YMCA State Championship Swim Meet was held at Marshalltown, Iowa. The Washington Water Sharks which consists of boys eight years of age and under swam in the 100 Meter Relay and received 4th place. Preston Lasek was one of the participants of this in Freestyle.
Preston is the son of Jesse and Betsy Lasek of Ainsworth and the grandson of Carolyn Love and Larry and Nancy Love of Crawfordsville.
The Washington High School Archery team shot at the 2021 State Archery Tournament at Cardinal Community High School on Saturday, March 13, 2021. In Team Standings Audrey Smith shot a 276 and tied for 1st Place in 3-D and scored 279 for 3rd Place in Bullseye. State results will be released at the end of March.
Audrey is the daughter of Sonya Love-Smith of Crawfordsville and Clyde Smith of Washington and the granddaughter of Carolyn Love and Larry Love and Nancy Love of Crawfordsville.
Spaghetti supper
The Crawfordsville community reports a very good turnout for its drive-thru spaghetti supper on Saturday, March 13. Community members would like to thank everyone that came and also those that donated supplies.
The United Church of Crawfordsville is still offering worship services via Zoom and Facebook live streaming on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Persons should also note they will be able to watch the worship service at any time after the original live-stream on Facebook. You may worship in person each Sunday at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 9 a.m., and at 10:30 a.m. at the Ainsworth Community Church.
Masks and social distancing is required at this time.
