The Crawfordsville Community Club's pie fundraiser was a great success, having sold 355 pies. They offered Pies on Parade from Burlington in various fruit, cream and meat varieties. The meat ones, especially chicken, were very popular. It was a good fundraiser for the group and over 75 percent of those that ordered picked them up on Friday, Nov. 13.
State dance competition for WACO was held Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines and nine girls performed two songs. Participating were Morgan Graber, Molly McLaughlin, Amy Moran, Grace Coble, Katie Leichty, Ellah Kissell, Joselyn Futlon, Ludia Hesseltine and Zoey Dennler. Results won't be known until Dec. 5, since some teams submitted virtually.
As of now, the United Church of Crawfordsville is having a Thanksgiving Eve service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Ainsworth Community Church is invited to join them.
The Mission Committee of the United Church of Crawfordsville is again planning a Mitten Tree at the Church. Hats, mittens, scarves and hand sanitizer are accepted and will be given to WACO Elementary School and also to the church's Christmas caring gift boxes.
