Crawfordsville news: Skylar Beckler graduates from WACO

Dean and Crystal Beckler hosted an open house graduation and going away party for their son, Skylar Beckler on Saturday, August 1 from 2-5 p.m. at their home.
Family and friends stopped by to see Skylar and his collection of toy semis and Star Wars collectables. He also had semi truck coloring pages on display taped up inside a metal gazebo.
Guests were able to visit and enjoy a meal of taco salad, small dish of watermelon, an assortment of cookies and graduation cake.
Skylar graduated from WACO High School on June 21, 2020. Post high school plans consist of Skylar attending The School for the Deaf and Blind in Council Bluffs, IA. He moves into his dorm room on August 16. He will attend school until the age of 21 while he improves his independent living skills and receives vocational training in a variety of skill sets.
Sklar plans to return home after completion of school and help his Dad with semi-truck repairs and help his brother, Beau with collision repairs.
The Becklers wish to extend their gratitude to all who attended the open house and celebrated his success and future plans.
The Crawfordsville Lions will hold a meeting Monday, August 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ball Park. The Fall Pancake Breakfast and possible fund raisers will be among the topics discussed.
The United Church of Crawfordsville will hold worship services at 10:30 a.m. August 23, 2020 in the church parking lot. Bring your lawn chairs and sit outside.
