Skylar Jordan Beckler, a 2020 WACO graduate from Crawfordsville, is the son of Dean and Crystal Beckler and has an older brother, Beau.
He participated in band and chorus his first two years of high school and was a football manager during the 2015 WACO Football Season. Throughout high school he often helped school staff with restocking vending machines, serving coffee orders and enjoyed the mail run for the school staff.
Skylar attends the United Church of Crawfordsville and he plans to attend the School for the Deaf and Blind in Council Bluffs this fall to improve his independent living skills and possibly train for a job.
Over the years, Sklyar has enjoyed attending Camp Courageous and currently wants to save money to buy a horse and learn to ride.
His favorite hobbies include playing video games and collecting Star Wars memorabilia. His class ring has 'May the force be with you” engraved on the inside. He also collects toy semi trucks, (his Dad is a trucker).
The Coronavirus pandemic has disrupted his daily routines and he prays the virus will end soon. When Skylar learned he would not be returning to school following Spring Break, his main concern was whether or not he would graduate and is now so happy all that worked out.
Plans are to have a post-graduation and going away party for him on August 1 from 2-5 p.m. at his home. Invitations will be mailed and it will also be posted on social media. His school starts Aug. 17.
