Six members of the Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club met at Dodici in Washington for lunch on Wednesday, Oct. 20. The arrangements were made by Rachel Koehler.
Present were Ruth Erwin, Debbie Lowe, Rachel Koehler, Pauline Richardson, Janice Twinam and Cathy Williams.
The group had not met since February 2020, so everyone was glad to be back together. They gave book briefs on what they've been reading and told of their favorite books/authors since.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and the treasurer's report was given. Each member signed up to hostess a meeting for the club year November 2021 to June 2022.
The next meeting will be Nov. 17, the time and place to be determined by the hostess.
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday evening, October 25, 2021 at the Crawfordsville Community Room at 7 p.m. with 14 members present.
Lion President Gene Miller called the meeting to order by leading the Pledge of Allegiance and also gave the invocation.
Lion Billie Jo Rose read the minutes of the October 11, 2021 meeting and they were approved as read. Lion Treasurer Finke gave his report and stated there was no meat left to sell.
New Business: The club decided to invite Joey and Alice Hochstetler to be their guests at their Christmas party on Tuesday, December 6, 2021. More on the menu, etc. at the next meeting. Lion Finke said he has a guest, Marlene Pelster coming to the November 22, 2021 meeting to present a program about Aronia berries, which she raises and she will share some dishes which she has made.
The club voted to resume their usual annual Christmas drawing on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Crawfordsville Fire Station. The drawing will begin at 1 p.m. with the 4-H Club having a bake sale at 12 noon and Santa arriving at 12:30 p.m.
Tail Twister Larry Fletcher had a couple of trivia questions for the group and asked that someone take over his position, as health issues are preventing him from serving.
There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting adjourned.
Delicious refreshments were served by Lions Gene Lintz and Lion Gene Miller.
