HOMETOWN RIVAL FOOD DRIVE
The Wayland State Bank, Winfield and Wayland offices recently entered a friendly competition to benefit the local food pantries. During the Home town Rival Food Drive both communities were challenged to see who could collect the most food donations. An extra incentive was that the "losing" school district's High School principal would have to wear the "winning" team's school's apparel and serve lunch to the students of the opposing school.
Both communities went above and beyond in this rival competition. WACO was proud to say that they swept the competition this year. The total item count was WMU--4,467 and WACO---12,883 items collected.
Thanks to both communities for this unbelievable response. The true winners are those benefiting from the generous donations.
