Six members of the Crawfordsville Wednesday Study Club met at the Washington U.P. Home in an alcove at Kerr Hall at 2 p.m. on May 21. Those present were Ruth Erwin, Rachel Koehler, Debbie Lowe, Joyce Roth, Cathy Williams and the hostess, Janice Twinam.
A few books were shared and discussed. Janice then presented a program about the history of Crawfordsville, Iowa schools, specifically, the "subscription" schools in the township and their consolidation in 1908. Reminisces and memories were shared about the names and locations of the country schools. The first alumni banquet of the Crawfordsville School was held in 1925. This year, 2025 marks the 100th and final alumni gathering to be held on Saturday, June 14.
The next meeting of the club will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025, with Joyce Roth as hostess.
SACHA CLUB MEETS
Eight members of Sacha Club met on May 19, 2025 at the Ainsworth Community Church at 6 a.m.
President Brenda Bean opened the meeting . Linda McNeil gave the secretary's report and it was approved as read. The Treasurer's report was given by Karen Megchelsen.
Old Business: Sheets were distributed for those present to sign up for hostess and program ideas, as well as committees.Members were encouraged to show their talent as a program leader. The Scholarship Committee report was given by Karen Megchelsen in the absence of Rachel Carstensen. The recipient was Adyson Gerot.
New Business: None.
The Club will be taking a summer break and the next meeting will be Monday, September 22, 2025.
The meeting closed with the Club Collect.
Refreshments were served by Linda Lord.
