Crawfordsville’s Roger Lucas inducted into Iowa Horseman’s Hall of Fame

Roger Lucas of Crawfordsville was inducted into the Iowa Horseman's Hall of Fame on February 16, 2024 at the Botanical Gardens in Des Moines. He has been involved in promoting the horse industry for approximately 50 years all over the United States and Canada.
He has raised and showed Hackney Ponies and a few American Saddles and baby colts. Roger has served on many of the boards, including the Iowa Association Horseman's Board. His parents, the late Allan and Betty Lucas were also involved in raising and showing Hackney Ponies.
Attending the ceremony with him in Des Moines were his daughter, Kelly Lucas, son, Nick Lucas and granddaughters Emma and Anna of Memphis,TN, and his step-daughter and her husband, Meagan and Casey Conrad and daughter, Madison of Winfield, IA.
WHITE CLOUD CLUB
The White Cloud Club met Tuesday evening, March 5 at 6 p.m. for their annual Date Night.
A delicious meal was enjoyed at Your Choice Family Restaurant in Wayland.
Those enjoying the evening were Jolene and Andy Colthurst, Betty and Gene Lintz, Diane Johnston, Pat and Gene Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline and Floyd Richardson and Virginia Sands. The group serenaded Pat Miller singing Happy Birthday to her, since it was her birthday.
Betty Lintz was in charge of arrangements.
The time and place for the next meeting on Tuesday, April 2 will be announced later.
EASTER SERVICES 2024
Thursday, March 28 there will be a Maundy Thursday service at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 7 p.m. and Friday, March 29 a Good Friday service will be held at the Ainsworth Community Church at 7 p.m. Sunday morning, March 31 the Worship Committee will have a breakfast at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 8 a.m., followed by worship at 9 a.m.
