The Creative Living Department of Fortnightly held the first meeting of fall on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the U.P. dining room with 11 members and guest speaker Jennine Wolf in attendance.
Sonja Campbell served as hostess with Bess Llewellyn as co-hostess being absent. Refreshing dessert and coffee was served.

The Creative Living Department of Fortnightly held the first meeting of fall on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the U.P. dining room with 11 members and guest speaker Jennine Wolf in attendance.
Sonja Campbell served as hostess with Bess Llewellyn as co-hostess being absent. Refreshing dessert and coffee was served.
Ms. Wolf presented the program on Food Safety. Meats, vegetables and fruits need to be sanitized and prepared to prevent illness and maintain good health. Many good ideas and pointers were given to the members and comparisons given from members' grandmothers' preparations compared to today's standards for safety.
Joleen Krotz, president, called the business meeting to order by having inspirational leader Esther Bordwell read ?A Wish For Autumn.?
Sharon Niffenegger read the minutes from the last meeting. Members answered roll call by each telling ?My Idea Of Being Rich.? She gave the treasurer's report and paid Joleen Krotz a donation from the club's account to show appreciation for Wolf's presentation
Sonja Campbell reported that two students were to be awarded the annual scholarship with more information to follow.
The Anniversary Luncheon will be held on Nov. 18, at the new Washington Kirkwood Regional Center. Tickets were available to purchase and need to be purchased no later than Nov. 12.
Dues were collected for the new year and new booklets distributed.
The next meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 23, in the UP Dining Room with Shirley Pfeifer and Julia Gamon as hostesses.
