Creative Living Department, Fortnightly

The Department of Creative Living Fortnightly meeting was held at the UP Dining Room on Oct. 23, 2014. Shirley Pfeifer and Julia Gamon were hostesses and served fall refreshments from their timely decorated table.

The guest speaker was Marge Lasek. She presented a very entertaining, informative program on ?Gettysburg Re-visited During the Civil War.?

Joleen Krotz, president, called the meeting to order with Esther Bordwell giving the inspirational on the month of October.

Roll call was ?Bring an antique or old kitchen utensil for show and tell." Many interesting items were presented and caused much visiting and remembrance of their past uses. Twelve members and the guest speaker each added their stories and presented their antiques as Sharon Niffenegger called on those present. Sharon Niffenegger read last month's minutes and gave the treasurer's report on the last meeting held.

Nov. 18 will be the Anniversary Luncheon to be held at the new Kirkwood Community Academy at noon with a catered lunch. A tour of the new facility will be following the luncheon. This meeting will take the place of the monthy November meeting. The December meeting will be held at Halcyon House on Dec. 4, with Maxine Davisson and Sharon Niffenegger as hostesses. This will be a noon potluck.
