Danville performers to Des Moines Awards Showcase

DANVILLE ? On Monday, June 4, at 7 p.m., Danville High School?s theater department will participate in the 2018 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase, presented by EMC Insurance Companies, in honor of the school?s achievements for its production of ?Shrek the Musical.?

The showcase will recognize a total of 68 schools from across the state. Select students will represent Danville by performing in a collaborative interschool medley led by guest Broadway music director, Adam Jones, and choreographer, Sara Brians. Performers selected from Danville are Emma Snavely, Kale Schuff and Tyler Hill.

Danville High School also will be recognized with the following awards and honors:

? Distinguished scene

? Special Recognition for Performance in a principal role

? Special Recognition for Community Support

For the first time, the Showcase will be livestreamed at Iptv.org as part of an exciting collaboration with Iowa Public Television. IPTV will air a highlights special of the evening later this summer.
