Danville to host Founders Day Saturday

Danville will host 'An Old Fashioned Homecoming” on Saturday, Oct. 19 to celebrate Danville Founders Day.
The schedule of events is as follows:
7-9 a.m.: Pancake, sausage, or bacon breakfast (free will donation) sponsored by the Danville Firefighters Association. Give MOM the morning off and come enjoy a hot breakfast, to be held at the Danville Community building.
7 a.m.-3 p.m.: Danville's 'Fire up the Smoker” BBQ Contest. Entries at 7
a.m. Chef meeting at 9 a.am. Win a special prize for the best decorated BBQ team (pit)! Judging will start at 11:30 a.m. and People's Choice Award voting will start at NOON! There will be a $10 buy a plate and voting ticket to sample all contestants BBQ and vote for People's Choice. Along with the 'special” plate you will get all of the fixing's and dessert.
10 a.m.: Danville Fire Department Corn Bag Tournament at the park north of the Community building. Get a team and get signed up, it's a great time for all ages.
10 a.m.– 2 p.m. Classic Car/Tractor Show in the Danville Bank parking lot. Judging starts at 1:00 p.m.
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Kids 10 & under game area: Bouncy house, Petting Zoo & games. Sponsored by the Danville FFA Chapter.
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Quilt display in the Bob Dodds Insurance meeting room.
10 a.m.- 2 p.m. BINGO! In the Damille Community building. Sponsored by the Danville / New London Masonic Lodge.
None - 2 p.m. 6th Grade Coloring Contest displays at the Danville Hair Place. Vote for your favorite one, Oct. 1st - Oct. 19th until 10:00a.m. Winners will be announced at 11:00 a.m.
10 a.m.: 3 on 3 Basketball in the park. $30/team and registration ends at 9:45a.m., games start at 10:00 a.m. (subject to weather)
10 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Entries for the pie baking contest at the Community Building. Judging to start at 10:30. All pies will be donated and used as dessert for the BBQ lunch.
