The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center announces the cancellation of comedian David Koechner?s performance May 15 at the Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
According to Koechner?s agent, he has gone into filming for an upcoming major motion picture and is unable to fulfill his touring obligation. Koechner was scheduled to appear in Dubuque, Fairfield and Cedar Rapids and is cancelling all three dates.
?The high profile talent always have this clause in their contract,? said Rustin Lippincott, executive director of the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. ?This is the first time a scheduled Fairfield performance at the Sondheim center has cancelled due to Hollywood calling. Although I am disappointed, it shows the level of talent we are getting at the center.?
Attempts to reschedule Koechner were unsuccessful due largely to the Sondheim center?s calendar.
?We will be announcing next week that a nationally recognized comedian is coming to the Sondheim in June,? said Lippincott. ?The comedian coming to the Sondheim has had his own television show on Comedy Central and will crack up the Sondheim.?
The ticket office will issue refunds for all purchased tickets for Koechner. The ticket office is open from noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
For information, contact Lippincott at 427-2828.
