David Kroll honored with “Dare to Dream” Award for Outstanding Service in Assisted Living

WEST DES MOINES — The Iowa Assisted Living Association (IALA) is proud to announce that David Kroll, director of sales at Addington Place of Mt. Pleasant, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Dare to Dream Award. The award was presented during the IALA Annual Conference on Oct. 22 during IALA’s Annual Conference in West Des Moines.

The Dare to Dream Award recognizes a professional who goes above and beyond to create meaningful, person-centered experiences that enhance residents’ quality of life in assisted living communities.

David Kroll was selected for his creativity, dedication, and passion for helping residents live life to the fullest. David had a resident who was diagnosed with a terminal illness and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, especially the Women's Basketball Team. David made a call and was given the name of a man that had season tickets. This gentleman gave them 4 free tickets! David and some staff were able to take the resident to an Iowa Hawkeye Women’s basketball game. The resident was able to experience the game before she passed a few months later. He has inspired both residents and staff while making a lasting impact on the community.

The award was presented in front of industry peers, administrators, and professionals from across Iowa at IALA’s Annual Conference — an event dedicated to education, networking, and recognizing excellence in the assisted living profession.
