David J. Kurth, 68, Mesa, AZ (formerly Mt. Pleasant) died January 1, 2019 from pancreatic cancer.

Born January 11, 1950 in Granville, IA, he was the son of Lawrence and Armella Kurth. His family moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1960. He met his wife, Sharon Spraker (formerly of New London), in Arizona; they married July 2, 1977. He worked as a mechanic most of his life and while in Mt. Pleasant worked at Mt. Pleasant Tire. He enjoyed time spent with family, being outdoors and hiking.

Survivors include two daughters, Sarah Kurth and Darla Kurth, both of Mesa; sisters, Diane (Steven) Guess & Sharon (Phil) Gekas; brother Dale (Valarie) Kurth; sisters-in-law, Sandra Chrapla & Susan Spraker; three nephews, two nieces; four great-nephews and four great-nieces.

He was preceeded in death by his wife Sharon R. Kurth; parents; older brother, Allen Kurth; and in-laws Emmet and Liz Spraker.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Inurnment will be held in the spring at Burge Cemetery, New London, with an open house to follow.
