Davis family returns from Disney cruise

Scott and Jeanne Davis just returned from a Disney cruise vacation taking all their children, spouses and grandchildren as well.

They flew to Cocoa Beach and spent a couple of days swimming in the ocean, playing along the beach, and touring NASA at Cape Canaveral. On the 13th they set sail from Cape Canaveral for a five day cruise that went to Nassau in the Bahamas and was to have gone to the Disney private island, but the weather didn't cooperate. The last night was very rough on the ship and Mother Nature showed she was boss.

Everyone had a great time, especially the kids.

Those going with Scott and Jeanne were Ryan and Carman Davis, Peyton and Paxton; Marcus and Brittany Davis, Makinley, Brysen and Merrick; Angela Davis and Chris and Chayse McClain and Amber and Rebecca Davis.

STEELE KIDS RECEIVE AWARDS

Kylee Steele daughter of Cory and Katie Steele and 9th Grade student at Washington High School recently received the Student of the Month Award based on her commitment to helping others and her brother, Clayton a 4th Grade student at Lincoln Upper Elementary received a Positive Office Referral for helping other students in small groups and doing a wonderful job at being a great teammate. Congratulations! We're all proud of both of you!

THANKSGIVING GATHERINGS

Mike and Shirley Massey hosted a dinner for their family at Bethel Church on Thanksgiving. Present were Michle Campbell and family of Cedar Rapids; Jason and Jennifer Massey and family of Grandview; Rebecca and Brad Groothuis of Marion and family, Shirley's mother, Ramona Von Sprecken of Maquoketa and Mike's sister and husband, Linda and Gary Mowry of Bennett.

Larry and Donna Fletcher enjoyed the day with other family members at the home of their son and wife, Brad and Carol Fletcher in Cedar Falls. Others present were Clint Fletcher and Caitlin Atkins and Emma Fletcher and Ryleigh Reed, all of Hudson, Pam and Steve Green of Washington, Kathy and Mick Garris and Brian and Carla Haymond, all of Winfield and Brennan Haymond of Des Moines.

Carmen Steele of Omaha, NE., Doug and Carrie Wilkerson and Emma of Center Point and Cory and Katie Steele, Kylee and Clayton of Crawfordsville were Thanksgiving guests of Doug and Carrie Steele.

Thanksgiving Guests of Jesse, Betsy and Preston Lasek were Carolyn Love and Bruce Davis, Larry and Nancy Love, all of Crawfordsville; Sonya Love-Smith and Audrey of Keosauqua, Jess and Sharon Ryder, Tyler and Cheryl Byrnes, and Avery and Ryder, all of North Liberty and Maggie and Tyler Robertson, Kinsley and Noah of Mt. Pleasant.

Amanda Johnson and Chris Overman of Des Moines were Thanksgiving guests of James and Mary Kisor, Rachyl and Emily. They enjoyed playing several games for entertainment.
