Deadline for S.H.A.R.E. orders Oct. 5
Orders are due Oct. 5 for the S.H.A.R.E. Iowa Inc. food packages available in October.
Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org. The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.

Orders can be placed by calling the St. Mary Catholic Church office at 472-3179 or the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association office at 472-6140. Orders also can be placed online at www.shareiowa.org. The pickup date will be at 8 a.m. Oct. 20 at the Fairfield Eagles Club.
Several different packages are available; participants can purchase one or more in any combination.
The $25 ?best value? package includes shaved Angus beef steak, chicken breast fillets, pork tenderloin tips, ground turkey, french toast sticks and fresh seasonal produce.
The $13.50 grocery package includes french toast sticks and fresh seasonal produce.
The $13.50 meat-only package includes shaved Angus beef steak, chicken breast fillets, pork tenderloin tips and ground turkey.
The $30 baking/pantry box includes granulated, brown and powdered sugars, spray oil, flour, walnuts, raisins, baking soda, vanilla, Crisco, cinnamon, baking mix, oatmeal, peanut butter, vanilla and chocolate chips and mini marshmallows.
The $19 pasta box includes cheese manicotti, stuffed shells, meat tortellini, cheese ravioli, ziti stuffed with spinach and cheese, ziti stuffed with sundried tomato and cheese and cheddar and potato pierogies.
The $20 roasted chicken quarters box includes nine breast and wing forequarters and nine drum and thigh hindquarters.
The $18 butterfly shrimp box includes 16 to 20 extra jumbo, handbreaded butterfly shrimp. Deep frying is recommended.
Participants who order one of the main food packages also have the option to order ?choice? items.
The choice items for October are:
30 corn dogs for $5; closeout of suppertime entrees for $20, which includes two of each 10-ounce cheese ravioli with meat sauce, ham breakfast skillet meals, chicken cacciatore with penne pasta and grilled chicken breast alfredo with penne pasta and broccoli florets; closeout of a $17 steak box with eight 6-ounce top sirloins; and four mini pies ? two apple and two cherry ? for $3.50.
Food packages are subject to changes.
The nonprofit food-buying organization offers meal food packages at reduced costs through its volunteer-run distribution system. Participants do not have to meet income guidelines. Participants are asked to volunteer at least two hours to an activity of their choice.
