Adrian Dickey, President of Dickey Transport in Packwood, Iowa, was elected the 2023 Chairman of the Board for the Iowa Motor Truck Association (IMTA) at the association’s annual management conference. Chairman Dickey is the first third generation officer for the association.
“Having been an active IMTA member for over 30 years, I have experienced firsthand many wonderful things IMTA does for our industry. Being an individual who believes in volunteering one’s time in a significant way, serving the IMTA as the Chairman of the Board is truly special to me,” said Dickey. “It has always been a desire of mine to fill the seat that has been filled by both my father, Dave, and my grandfather, Harold.”
The Iowa Motor Truck Association was established in 1942 and has been the recognized voice of Iowa’s trucking industry for 80 years. Headquartered in Des Moines, IMTA has over 600 member companies (trucking and suppliers) throughout the state of Iowa.
As board chairman, Dickey will oversee the development of pro-trucking, pro-business policies and will advocate on behalf of the industry in Iowa and in Washington, D.C. The IMTA Board is comprised of 39 Directors from across the state representing all sizes and types of trucking operations.
Joining Dickey as association officers are 1st Vice Chairman, Scott Szymanek from Eldon C. Stutsman (Hills); 2nd Vice Chairman Hugh Ekberg from CRST The Transportation Solution (Cedar Rapids); Secretary, John Smith from CRST The Transportation Solution (Cedar Rapids); and Treasurer, Steve Schuster from Schuster Co. (Le Mars).
“We have been fortunate to have a long line of volunteer leaders that truly understand and support our mission as an organization. These same leaders will continue to help us advocate for Iowa’s trucking industry and highlight the importance of trucking to every Iowan,” said IMTA President Brenda Neville.
