Dickinson celebrates 90th birthday with her children
Irene Dickinson of rural Birmingham celebrated her 90th birthday Sept. 4 at a birthday party hosted by her eight children.
The day started with a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield. A breakfast followed for family and out-of-town guests. Dickinson was presented a photo album created by her children. She also was given a memory book in which letters were written to her.

Irene Dickinson of rural Birmingham celebrated her 90th birthday Sept. 4 at a birthday party hosted by her eight children.
The day started with a 9 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield. A breakfast followed for family and out-of-town guests. Dickinson was presented a photo album created by her children. She also was given a memory book in which letters were written to her.
The party officially started with a 12:30 p.m. luncheon, with 130 people in attendance. A program later in the afternoon included a song sung by Dickinson?s great-grandchildren. Many toasts were made in Dickinson?s honor.
Dickinson has eight children, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
