Dickinson celebrates 95th birthday with family
An early observance of Birmingham resident Irene Dickinson?s 95th birthday was celebrated the weekend of July 29-31 in Des Moines.
The fun began July 29 with canvas painting and a barbecue at the home of Annette and Bryan Bravard in West Des Moines. July 30 kicked off with family members wearing a Team Dickinson ?95? T-shirt to lunch, followed by a family bowling competition. The evening consisted of a dinner at ...

An early observance of Birmingham resident Irene Dickinson?s 95th birthday was celebrated the weekend of July 29-31 in Des Moines.
The fun began July 29 with canvas painting and a barbecue at the home of Annette and Bryan Bravard in West Des Moines. July 30 kicked off with family members wearing a Team Dickinson ?95? T-shirt to lunch, followed by a family bowling competition. The evening consisted of a dinner at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, with a program following.
July 31, Mrs. Dickinson?s family attended church together and gathered for a family lunch. Thirty-eight family members were able to attend the celebration.
The entire weekend was planned by her eight children and their spouses: Richard Dickinson of Pella; Sandra and Jerry McLain of Milton; Sue and Bill Lowe of Birmingham; Mike and Connie Dickinson of Mt. Pleasant; Pat and Dale Ernst of Lenexa, Kansas; Ed and Teri Dickinson of Douds; Leo and Iya Dickinson of Jacksonville, Florida; and Annette and Bryan Bravard of West Des Moines.
Mrs. Dickinson also has 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dickinson was born Sept. 7, 1921. She was married to the late Charles Dickinson, and she was a farm homemaker.
