In an ongoing effort to ensure every dog and cat in the area has a home, Caring Community Spay Neuter Assistance Program and area veterinary clinics are sponsoring the 12th annual February Spay Neuter Promotion.
The Veterinary Clinic, Fairfield Animal Hospital, Richland and Sigourney veterinary clinics and the Village Vet in Birmingham are all offering discounts to anyone who brings in a dog or cat for a spay or neuter surgery during February.
Call the clinics directly to make an appointment. Anyone needing additional financial assistance may call CCSNAP at 469-2015.
In 2011, 167 surgeries were performed locally during the promotion. Spaying and neutering a pet reduces health and behavior problems, leading to a longer and healthier life.
Community support is the key ingredient to the success of the campaign. CCSNAP is asking everyone to help spread the message that pet overpopulation is a ?fixable? problem. Tell neighbors, co-workers and friends about the February discounts.
Organizers also are asking community members to make a donation to CCSNAP so the program can continue. All donations are tax-deductible and should be sent to: Noah?s Ark Animal Foundation/CCSNAP, P.O. Box 748, Fairfield 52556.
