Donors give 169 units of blood

More than 100 units of blood were drawn at recent Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center drives.

Seventeen units of blood were drawn March 27 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.

Twenty-five units of blood were drawn March 28 at the Keosauqua Senior Center.

Twenty units of blood were drawn March 29 at the Birmingham Lions Building.

Thirty-three pints of blood were drawn April 10 at Cambridge Investment Research Inc.

The mobile unit drew 42 pints of blood April 13 at the Jefferson County Health Center?s Professional Clinics.

The mobile unit drew 32 pints of blood Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church.

A donor can give blood every eight weeks. One pint of blood can help save the lives of up to three patients, and one out of every five people entering the hospital will need blood products.
