Donors give 66 pints of blood at three recent drives
The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has announced the results of recent area blood drives.
The mobile unit drew 18 pints of blood Sept. 9 at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.
A total of 12 pints of blood were collected Sept. 17 at Roosevelt Community Recreation Center in Fairfield.
A total of 36 pints of blood were drawn Sept. 26 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has announced the results of recent area blood drives.
The mobile unit drew 18 pints of blood Sept. 9 at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

A blood donor can give blood every eight weeks.
According to the blood center, one pint of blood can help save the lives of up to three patients and one out of every five people entering the hospital will need blood products.
The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 87 hospitals in Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield and the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
