Dorothy Pierson, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Eastern Star, in Boone.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, in Ames, with burial to follow at the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Pierson was born on Dec. 6, 1925, in Mediapolis, to Paul and Mary (Foster) Wiederrecht. She graduated from Burlington High School and Burlington College of Commerce. She married John Robert ?Bob? Pierson in March of 1947, in Burlington.
In 1957, the couple moved to a farm in the Pleasant Lawn area, of rural Mt. Pleasant, where she resided over 40 years. After the couple divorced, she moved to Ames.
She was a farm wife and homemaker.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, working in the yard, visiting with her neighbors, caring for her family, and making them meals.
Pierson is survived by her daughter, Lora (Robert) Larrance, of Ames; and her granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Janet Seager and Marilyn Eaton; and her former husband, Bob.
