The above photo was submitted by Janet Beranek Hume of Moscow, Idaho. It came from the former home of Elma and Mary Horak, in Washington. It is believed Anthony Horak is in the picture, and Hume is seeking help identifying the others.
The orginzation Z.C.B.J. is the Zapadni Cesko Bratrska Jednota, founded in 1897. In English, this translates to 'Western Bohemian Fraternal Association.” There was a lodge (Zora) of Z.C.B.J. organized in Richmond with 112 members. Prior to that time, members of the organization were part of the first organized Czechoslovak fraternal group called C.S.P.S (Cesko-Slovanske Podporujici Spolecnosti). In English, this translates to 'Czech Slavonic Benevolent Society.”
