This picture appeared in The Journal on Thursday, Sept. 28, 1978. The caption reads: PEP SIGNS calling for the Washington Demons to best Fairfield have sprouted up around town this week in advance of the major football battle Friday. Third-graders at Lincoln Elementary School got into the act by designing this flag pole sign and locker posters during their art class. Signs heralding the Demons are also up in the business district and are expected along Highway 1 from Brighton to Washington to let Fairfield know it is entering "Demon Country." Both teams put 3-0 records on the line in the 7:30 clash at Case Field.
The third-grade teacher was Mrs. Cathi Hill.
