Duo piano recital to be presented at Iowa Wesleyan

MOUNT PLEASANT ? Duo-pianists Heidi Riepe and Joel Brown of Mount Pleasant will present a concert of music for two pianos at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in room 300 in Old Main on the campus of Iowa Wesleyan College
The program will begin with Jesu, Joy of Man?s Desiring, Sicilienne and the Little Fugue in g minor, all transcriptions for two pianos of original works by J. S. Bach. Chopin?s Rondo in C major will conclude the first part of the recital. The featured work will be Johannes Brahms? Variations on a Theme by Joseph Haydn, Op. 56b, one of the masterworks of duo-piano literature.
Riepe has taught piano in Mount Pleasant to many students of all ages and is an adjunct instructor of piano at Iowa Wesleyan College. She also is an active performer with the Mount Pleasant Community Theater. Brown has taught piano at Iowa Wesleyan College since 1972. He presents master classes and is an adjudicator for many piano festivals and contests. He and Riepe have been performing the four-hand piano literature since 1990.
The public is invited to attend either of the performances in Old Main. No admission is charged.
