Edgars welcome baby boy

Mitchell and Sarah Edgar are happy to announce the birth of their baby boy, Easton Hank Edgar, born Wednesday, May 15, 2024 weighing in at 9 lbs. 4 oz. He is welcomed home by big brother Hunter (2 years old) and big sister Leighton (1 year old).
Proud grandparents are Dave and Jessica Waite of Washington, Bill and Deanne Edgar of Columbus Junction, and Sheri and Joe Bennett of Washington. Great-grandparents are David and Kathy Shreeves of Wayland, Dan Wellington of Washington and Jerry and Betty Bean of Ainsworth. Edith Wellington of Washington is Easton's great-great-grandmother.
UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
Six ladies were present for the May 14, 2024 meeting of United Church Women in the Fellowship Hall.
Joyce Roth shared a meditation citing Jude 17-23 the story of the Old Scottish Fisherman. In the absence of the president, Pat Miller called the meeting to order and everyone read the Opening Creed.
The minutes of the March 12,2023 meeting were approved as read by Secretary Billie Jo Rose. Treasurer Pat Miller gave her report of the recent rummage sale and it was deemed a success. She also reported two camperships had been paid.

Dorcas: Donna reported sending quilts to a care center.
Cards, Flowers and Gifts: Billie Jo reported cards had been sent, sympathy, get well and Easter to those not able to be with us.
Mission Outreach: Margaret shared with us where things go that we send to
UMCOR. The Rummage was reported a success.
Old Business: None.
New Business: Donna reported on Midwest Missions: Items can be taken to any U.M. Church or to the Ingathering. She stated it is non-denominational and they have an on-line website.

Next meeting: July 9,Meditation: Billie Jo; Hostess: Marlene. Dorcas: May 20, June 10 and 24 and July 8. Work Committees: May: Donna; June: Margaret; July: Rachel.
Following a motion to adjourn, the Closing Creed was read in unison. Pat thanked Margaret for hostessing.
Two closing thoughts were shared: "Walk by faith, not by sight" and Pat shared " Live for today,Yesterday's Past" and "Tomorrow is not yet" from the book " Anxious for Nothing."
CRAWFORDSVILLE ALUMNI MEETING
The Crawfordsville Alumni invite alumni, spouses and friends to gather Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville Fellowship Hall. Anyone who attended Crawfordsville school is welcome. The time will be spent sharing stories and memories.
