Edwin Leroy Mills died at age 78 on February 28, 2019 at his home near Deming NM. Ed was the son of Iliff and Ruby Mills. Ed is survived by daughters Mendy and Melanie, both of Albuquerque NM; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a sister, Sharon Rhum. Ed's wife, Connie, his Mom and Dad, a brother Warren, a sister Mary and his son Mike preceded him in death. A memorial for Ed will be held at a later date.

Ed was raised on a small farm North of Lockridge, Iowa. Ed graduated in the last class from Lockridge High School with four classmates. Ed's best joke was that he was the 5th smartest student in his graduating class. Ed joined the Marines out of high school serving on the USS Boxer as a helicopter mechanic.

Ed worked at GE in Burlington. Ed also worked for UPS in Burlington. Ed transferred to the Davenport UPS station then moved to Durango, Colorado to manage the UPS station there.

Ed built several homes for his family before becoming a contractor in Deming NM. Ed's Santa Fe style houses' are uniquely beautiful and works of art.
