End of Summer Rally returning to Keosauqua

KEOSAUQUA ? The 22nd annual End of Summer Rally will be held Sept. 16-18 at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds north of Keosauqua.
Gates open at noon Sept. 16. Special events include fun runs and motorcycle pulling sled races. The fun run?s route goes through Lacey-Keosauqua State Park and downtown Keosauqua. Brent Wagner, popularly known as ?Big Schwag? on the Speed Channel series ?Pass Time,? will announce the motorcycle pulling sled races. Both events are Sept. 16-17.
Activities Sept. 17 include a bike show at 11:30 a.m. and bike rodeo at 2 p.m. Sign-up for a poker run begins at 10 a.m.
Live music is planned throughout the weekend. On Sept. 16, Hard Barney, Jennifer Handling and Revolution and headliner Judge Parker of Fort Smith, Ark., will perform. Evening entertainment on Sept. 17 includes Grey Wolf, Mega Sonics and country singer Heidi Newfield.
Worship service by the Christian M/C Association will be 9 a.m. Sept. 18.
Also Sept. 18, short track motorcycle racing sponsored by D.C. Promotions will be held, with hotlaps beginning at 10 a.m. and races at noon. Race day-only tickets cost $10, and those younger than 21 are admitted only on Sept. 18. The races are American Motorcycle Association sanctioned. The cost for one weekend ticket is $25 in advance or $30 at the gate. Food and camping are available on the grounds, as well as free firewood and hot showers.
The event is presented by State Line Rally Association with support from Golden Eagle Distributing.
