?If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?"Asks the writer of Psalms in Chapter 11. Every structure that is erected needs a solid foundation or it will eventually fall down.
Jesus told a story in Luke, Chapter 6, about a foolish man who built his house on the sand. When the storm came, the house fell down. But the wise man did what Jesus told him to do. He dug deep and built his house on a solid rock. When the storm came, his house stood.
The apostle Paul said in Ephesians 2:19-22 that the Christian Church was built upon the foundation of the prophets and apostles, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone. In other words, God?s Word, the Bible, which is ?forever established," is our foundation of Christian living.
In Genesis, Chapter 3 , we see the devil, embodied in the Serpent, contends with Eve and tells her God?s words are lies, and causes her to believe a lie and be disobedient to God?s Word. Because she listened to him, her life was ruined and so was her family's.
The devil?s schemes have not changed. He continues to tell people that God?s Word is not true, that you don?t have to do what the Bible says. But the result of his lies are the same ? they destroy lives. The devil came to steal, kill and destroy. Don?t let him steal your faith and destroy your foundation. Jesus came that you may have abundant life.
